make your own ornament

Glitter Ornament DIY

Who loves unique ornaments? Here is a way to create your own. These Litter ornaments are Super easy to create and gorgeous when finished.

Whether you have a cutting machine or not you can still make these ornaments stunning! You could even personalize with a permanent marker! I know that they carry plastic ornaments at the Dollar Tree but I really like the glass ornaments. I grab a ton of these glass ornaments when they are on sale or clearance from Hobby Lobby.

Let’s talk glitter for a minute. I absolutely love the StarCraft glitter that I purchase from 143Vinyl . It’s like dust glitter, not chunky at all and it coats the ornaments very well!

Glitter ornament DIY supply list

  1. clear ornament
  2. glitter
  3. polycrylic
  4. medicine syringe
  5. paper cups
  6. plastic cups
  7. ribbon for bow
  8. vinyl if you want to add a design
  9. magic marker if you want to add personalization without vinyl

Are you ready to begin? Shake or stir your polycrylic. Take a dropper full and add it to the inside of the ornament. Swirl it around so the entire inside is coated, don’t worry that it won’t stay. As long as you coated it good with the polycrylic you will be fine.

Flip it over and let the access drain out into the plastic cup. While that is draining, take your startcarft glitter and pour it into the paper cup. I use these little bathroom cups because they are the right size and you can fold the sides in together to pour into the ornament easily.

Now take you paper cup, push the sides together and pour into the ornament. Next swirl the glitter all the way around the inside of the ornament so that it is coating the entire ornament. Flip up side down, opening over the paper cup. Tap the sides to get out all the excess glitter.

Place the cap back on the top. now is the time to add a bow, personalize with a magic marker or add your vinyl. You now have a finished ornament! Super cute right? That wasn’t so hard was it?

Personalized stocking diy

Personalized Stocking DIY

You can find all the items need to create a Personalized Stocking DIY at the Dollar Tree! You will not find the stockings right now due it technically not being that time of year.

When they do finally hit the shelves I order a case of them from the Dollar Tree website. I purchase by the case for convenience. There are some items, I just do not want to hunt for and know that they will be showing up eventually on their site. I stalk their website all the time looking for something that I can create.

Please note that I have a silhouette and normally cut everything out on that. You do not need a cutting machine to do this project.

Everyone loves something with their name on it!

Personalized stocking DIY product list can all be found at the Dollar Tree

Permanent vinyl

Craft knife set

Stocking

Pen/marker

Stencil

Let’s get started now that you have all your items ready. First you will cut a small piece of the roll of vinyl. Then you are going to lay it flat, place the stencil on top and trace your name out.

Once you have it traced, carefully cut it out. Now, I am not going to say that this vinyl is going to last forever, but it will at least last until your child or fur baby rips into it!

Now take the backing off the vinyl and place it on the stocking. My letters stuck fairly well. If you would like it to last another day or two, add some crafting glue to the back of the vinyl before placing it on the stocking.

What do you think of your creation? I hope you have enjoyed this post!

Name tile for Mother’s Day

Name tile for Mother’s Day gift is super easy and very inexpensive!

I love making gifts for family, friends and of course customers!!

There is something about receiving a handmade item for a gift. For some reason I appreciate it so much more!

Would you love to learn how to make a Name Tile for Mother’s Day gift? Keep reading!

Name tile for Mothers’s Day supplies needed:

1 ceramic tile from Lowes

2 different colors of permanent vinyl from 143 Vinyl

Cutting machine (silhouette) or stencils!
Transfer tape from 143 Vinyl

Rubbing alcohol

Cotton Ball

Pin Pen (use to weed vinyl) from 143 Vinyl

hair dryer if you get air bubbles

Lets get creating!! Open Design Space and on the left hand side, you will see the shapes option. Grab the square and make a rectangle the size of your tile. mine was 12”x4”. change the color of your box so you can see your petters. this box will he deleted or moved aside when cutting your wording. Now that you have your rectangle sized to fit tour tile, type Mom. Move it onto your rectangle and size it to fit right over it. I didn’t leave a sliver, which I should have.

Next add the children and dogs names😆 My dogs are my kids too! i used the I love glitter font from DaFont. It was Free! i love free 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Size your names to fit on your rectangle. If everything looks good to you its now time to cut! Move your names off the cut grid, leave the mom, and delete the rectangle.

Send the mom through with color vinyl of your choice. Be sure before taking your mat out of the cutter that your vinyl cut all the way through. If your words cut perfect and you can lift a piece of one of the letters you are ready to remove the cutting mat.

Lets get ready to cut your names out. Move MOM off of the cutting area and place your names in that area. Grab your second colored vinyl and repeat the process.
While your names are cutting, grab your cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. Rub the surface thoroughly and let dry.

Grab your cut vinyl and weed your words out. Place your transfer tape on the mom. Rub it on good so you know your letters stuck to the transfer tape. slowly remove the backing of your vinyl, mom should be adhered to the transfer tape.
Line your letters up with the top and side of the tile. Rub from one side to another to try to eliminate air bubbles. This is the hard part! After rubbing, slowly peel the transfer tape off the letters. Be sure to do this slow because you can easily rip your vinyl.

Grab your names and repeat the process. Carefully place your names right on top of MOM, rub really well and very slowly peel the transfer tape off.

If by chance you have bubbles, grab a pin, poke a little hole in it, smooth it with your finger. Grab your hair dryer and go over it. Don’t do it in the same spot for too long, you will melt your vinyl.

DIY Door Swag Gift On a Budget.

DIY Door Swag gift on a budget is super easy, fun and affordable! All supplies except the glue gun are from the Dollar Tree

Supplies you will need:

2~ Mini Christmas Trees

zip ties

scissors

hot glue gun

3~4 rolls of assorted ribbons

floral picks

One pipe cleaner if you are creating your own bow.

Take the trees out of the box, remove the plastic bottom and discard.

Put the two bottoms together side by side and zip tie. Be sure to leave space to add the bow. Cut the ends of the Christmas trees off.

Fluff out the branches and start your bow! You can create your own bow, or purchase one of those from the Dollar Tree as well.

Add your bow with your pipe cleaner to the center of your Swag. Be sure to twist it on very tight. Fluff your bow out..

Now you are going to start adding ribbon from the top of your Swag with the branches from your tree. I added ribbon about every four inches. Keep going all the way down one side and then continuing up the other side to the top. Your diy door Swag gift is taking shape! Are you excited yet?

Now you are going to cut pieces of ribbon at about six inches, place two separate designs together, fold the ends and cut to create duck tails at the ends. Find the center of the ribbons and add them on the door Swag gift where you want to fill in some blank spots on the sides.

Now add your floral picks or any decorations that you would like to add to the top and bottom of your diy door Swag gift.

Diy Door Swag Gift on a budget can be the talk of the town when your family member or friend hangs it on their door.
